Europe in the Round - Provides extensive information about the Member States of the EU (plus Iceland, Norway and Switzerland) and on the EU itself and less extensive information on another 39 countries.
KnowUK - is a unique online reference service that provides answers to a wide variety of questions on general knowledge and the people, places, organisations and institutions of the United Kingdom. KnowUK contains some of the most heavily used and authoritative reference materials found in libraries, from Who’s Who and Debrett’s People of Today to The Hutchinson Almanac and The Municipal Yearbook. There are currently over 90 reference works in KnowUK. It includes a year ahead events calendar.

Foreign & Commonwealth Office’s (FCO) Travel Advice Notices aim to ensure that British travellers are well prepared before departure. The website also contains answers to frequently asked questions (FAQs) on Travel Advice
How far is it? - This service uses data from the US Census and a supplementary list of cities around the world to find the latitude and longitude of two places, and then calculates the distance between them (as the crow flies). It also provides a map showing the two places, using the Xerox PARC Map Server.
UK Street Map - This site provides address searching and street map facilities for the UK. It currently has street maps for Greater London and road atlas maps for the whole of mainland Britain
