Chester
This is the planned new technologies campus at Handbridge, Chester. The areas of learning that will happen there include:
- bricklaying
- plastering
- wood trades
- plumbing
All part of the construction and building services area.
Within engineering there will be:
- electrical engineering
- mechanical
- motor vehicle
- electronics and computing
Together with opportunities in:
- enterprise
- entrepreneurialism
- incubator business units.
In addition there’ll be a vocational learning centre and an numeracy lab.
The key features of this exciting building will be a state of the art building management system and IT, a project court where the trades can come together in a space just adjacent to the entrance so everybody will be able to see the projects going on, an area at the front of the building for interactive experiments, such as one tends to see in the science museum and a lean manufacturing court which can be used by industry to develop the effectiveness of their business.
Ellesmere Port
This is the planned creative and service industries campus at Ellesmere Port. We plan to offer learning in the following areas:
- hospitality and catering
- hairdressing and beauty therapy
- performing arts
- music and dance
- public services
- sport and fitness
- art, design and media
- care
- childcare
- the visitor economy including business, retail and tourism, and also professional studies.
Key features of this building include a very large rotunda space for events, a learning ramp from ground to 5 th floor, which will include exhibitions, a restaurant, a shop, a hair salon, a beauty suite, a gallery, a theatre and a conference centre.
The building will be open to the public so that everybody will able to see the student’s activities and the learning on offer.
