Health and Safety at West Cheshire College

Fire

On discovering a fire, the first thing you should do is raise the alarm.

Next, you must leave the building by the nearest safe exit in a calm and orderly manner. You should then go directly to the assembly point outside the college. These are located in the front car park at Chester, by the tennis courts at Ellesmere Port and next to the rear fence at Capenhurst car park. Those who are unable to use the stairs must proceed to the safe refuge point and await collection.

Fire alarms are tested weekly, on all three sites, at 8.45am on Wednesdays.

Driving

For your safety there are speed restrictions all 3 campuses.

These are: 5mph at Chester, 12mph at Ellesmere Port and 10 mph at Capenhurst.

Additional caution is recommended due to ongoing building works

Smoking

By law you cannot smoke inside any building. Look out for the designated smoking shelter on your campus.
